Founders Message
With St. Therese of the Child of Jesus she wants “to be love in the heart of the Church”
- “By finding joy” in the assiduous and faithful accomplishment of her duties with courage and honesty, love and self-sacrifices, even in the little things.
- By living human relationships with humility and simplicity, in discretion and in tenderness.
Carmelite Missionary Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus (CMST)
Founders Of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus. Our religious family, Carmelite Missionary Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, was born from the encounter between the ideal of Mother M. Crocifissa (Rosa Curcio, Ispica, RG, Jan. 30, 1877) and that of Father Lorenzo van den Eerenbeemt (Ettore Cristiano, Rome, May 3, 1886).
While still a teenager, Rosa became a Carmelite Tertiary, with the name Sister M. Crucified. She understood her vocation through reading the Life of St. Teresa of Avila, which opened to her the Carmelite horizon and revealed to her the divine mission: “To offer herself as a victim of expiation together with the great Martyr of Love. Jesus needs these restorative souls of poor humanity, the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus repeats it to me, always with different and a thousand ever new expressions. It is one of the important missions He has entrusted to us in this new institution.”
Our Carmelite Charism spirituality and mission. You will discover the growth of this family born of Blessed Maria Crocifissa Curcio and Father Lorenzo Van den Eerenbeemt present in four Continents: Europe, America, Africa & Asia.
